Carving a pathway towards a more environmentally conscious future, Titan has announced the completion of converting two gas carriers into LNG bunker delivery vessels — a milestone marking the firm’s innovation and dedication. This ambitious metamorphosis unfolded in two separate corners of the world, carried out by expert shipyards known for their unmatched craftsmanship.

The Transformation Unveiled

Titans amongst the fleet, Titan Unikum, and Titan Vision emerged from their time at Metalships & Docks and PaxOcean shipyards in Spain and Indonesia, respectively, reimagined and repurposed. Titan rolled out this significant news through a recent LinkedIn post, drawing admiration from industry counterparts.

In the process of conversion, both Titans received critically important vessel adaptations. The addition of cargo transfer systems, Emergency Release Systems (ERS), Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems, and mooring enhancements. These enhancements are integral to facilitating LNG bunkering operations.

Gratitude and Innovation

Proudly acknowledging their success, Titan expressed a heartfelt gratitude for all contributions that amplified the conversion process. More importantly, these LNG Bunker Vessels symbolize the company’s commitment to fostering innovation and illuminating the pathway to the future of marine fuel – a blend of LNG, biomethane, and e-methane.

Currently, LNG stands as the reigning alternative bunker fuel, with hundreds of ships adopting its use, signifying its superior efficiency and eco-friendliness.

Seizing the Green Future

While these developments add to the momentum of the LNG revolution, the broader challenge at hand concerns the production of greener LNG variants — bio and synthetic. An evolution in production processes would prove instrumental in meeting the needs of ship owners aiming for a drastic reduction in their GreenHouse Gas (GHG) emissions.

As Titan looks to the future, the successful transformation of their Titan Unikum and Titan Vision signals a step in the right direction, spotlighting the realization of LNG’s potential and the unprecedented reinvention of marine fuel. In staying true to its name, Titan has positioned itself as a giant in the marine industry, steering the wheel toward a sustainable future.
