In January 2024, Boluda Towage began operating at Egypt's Abu Qir container terminal with three tugs. Boluda Corporación Marítima President Vicente Boluda Fos expressed optimism about the port's activity aligning with their division's goals. The three tugs, boasting 75 tonnes bollard pull and firefighting capabilities, were acquired from Sanmar and Med Marine Shipyards.

In a strategic move to bolster their foothold in the region, Boluda Towage has established an onshore team stationed at an office in Abu Qir, ready to navigate the complexities of the Egyptian maritime landscape. The initial phase of towage services sees the skilled crew operating three tugs, each boasting an impressive 75 tonnes bollard pull and firefighting capabilities, ensuring both power and safety are at the forefront of their operations.

Notably, the fleet comprises the formidable tractor tugs VB Amon and VB Horus, procured from Sanmar Shipyards, and based on the exclusive-to-Sanmar Tractor-Z 2500SX platform. Additionally, a Ramparts 2500-W ASD tug VB Ahmose, acquired from Med Marine Shipyards, further fortifies the fleet, underscoring Boluda Towage’s commitment to leveraging top-tier vessels for their endeavors.
